Former Graduate Student

Ashley is currently working towards a PhD in Linguistics, with a focus on child language development. She received an MSc in Developmental Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh in 2004. Her thesis work compared psychological and linguistic approaches to the study of child language. At Georgetown, Ashleys research interests center on the acquisition of nominal morphology by child speakers of Hungarian, as well as on the relationship between cognitive development and language acquisition more broadly. Through her work with the Georgetown Early Learning Project, she hopes to gain a better understanding of infant cognition and the role parent-child interaction plays in early language acquisition.
